Christmas Wishes

Dear Readers, Colleagues and Friends,

Today is the 23rd of December. The day after tomorrow some of us will be rejoicing the birth of Christ. This is a time to be thankful and reflect. As for us working in health this means: What have we done in the past few months to improve health and healthcare in Nigeria? How are we supporting those that fight for our all well-being at the various frontlines, such as our midwives in primary health care centres, our vaccination teams across the country and our volunteers in Liberia? Next week, on the last Tuesday of the year, we will look at some people who in unison have done great things in health during the past one year. But for now, let’s enjoy some deserved days of rest to prepare for another new year and its challenges.

Remember, don’t drink and drive, don’t over speed and give a thought to those manning our emergency services across the country. Keep our brothers and sisters in the North East in your prayers as well as the doctors and nurses tending to their wounds.

From our team at EpiAFRIC and Nigeria Health Watch, we wish you peaceful and relaxing holidays and Merry Christmas if you’re celebrating!

But make sure to be back next week … You wouldn’t want to miss our next post.
