2 Mins read

Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh (DRASA) Health Trust is celebrating its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of developing Health Champions, supporting Nigeria’s health systems, and carrying forward the legacy of Nigeria’s Ebola heroine, Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh. The Anniversary event is scheduled to hold in Abuja, Nigeria and online, on Monday, 20th October, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM as a landmark occasion to spotlight a decade of protecting health, preventing disease, and preserving the legacy of the late Dr. Adadevoh, while unveiling a bold roadmap for the future.

Founded in 2015 to honor the late Dr. Adadevoh, whose heroic actions stopped the spread of Ebola in Nigeria, DRASA Health Trust has grown into a leading public health organization that continues to work with the government, private sector, international partners, and civil society to prevent infection and protect health across the country.

The anniversary celebration will bring together government officials, development partners, business leaders, health professionals, community influencers, and DRASA’s network of youth and Health Champions from across the country. The event will feature:

  • Premiere of a 10-minute documentary capturing DRASA’s journey, milestones, and impact from grassroots to government.
  • An immersive digital “Impact Showroom” where audiences can explore DRASA’s results, stories, and data in interactive online “rooms.”
  • TED-style conversations and lightning testimonials from health workers, community champions, donors, and policymakers whose lives and work have been transformed by DRASA.
  • Launch of DRASA’s Endowment Fund, a first-of-its-kind fund to ensure long-term sustainability for Nigeria’s health security efforts.

The 10 Year Anniversary celebration will provide a platform for Health Champions, healthcare workers, partners, and the government to showcase the impact DRASA has made in the last decade. Through the event, DRASA will further inform the audience about their brand reputation and Nigeria’s health sector through the work they do, as donors, strategic partners, the government, the media, online, and in-person guests will be invited to key into their vision for the health sector in the next 10 years.

Since its founding in 2015, some highlights from DRASA’s work include:

  • 96,858 Health Champions developed and equipped to promote hygiene and sanitation practices and detect infectious diseases in vulnerable communities.
  • 15,796 health workers trained to provide safe, quality healthcare services.
  • 28 national and subnational public health policies developed and reviewed.
  • 13 public health emergency response systems established for Nigeria’s largest points of entry (airports, seaports, land borders).
  • 6 cross-border health forums established between Nigerian officials and 2 neighboring countries.
  • 31,845 units of personal protective equipment (PPE) distributed to frontline health facilities.

Excited about the milestone, the Managing Director of DRASA Health Trust, Mrs Niniola Williams said: “This 10th anniversary is not just a celebration of our journey; it is a recommitment to the vision that inspired our founding: courage in the face of crisis, and the determination to prevent infection and protect health. The next decade is about scaling our impact, leveraging innovation, and ensuring no community is left behind.”

DRASA will commemorate the anniversary with a series of events, including storytelling, video highlights, high level discussions and commitments, networking and teasers, while charting a path for the future.

DRASA’s 10th anniversary is a reminder that infection prevention is a shared responsibility, and that together, individuals, communities, and institutions can build a healthier and safer world.
