TIDEy project: 2-Day public health Outreach in the University of Abuja

The TIDEy project is a public health campaign by the CMDA, Nigeria to schools and universities to tackle issues surrounding water, sanitation and hygiene, preventable diseases and human dignity through Social and behavioural change communication.

Together with partners, the maiden edition will be implemented at the University of Abuja on the 12th and 13th of June, 2019. This is to address the unpleasant living conditions of the female students and abysmal sewage disposal method which poses a threat to their general wellbeing. Our aim is to educate and empower 1000 female students with best hygiene practices that will improve their living conditions and overall well-being alongside making them play a part as social actors to make this behavioural change sustainable.

During this outreach these female students will enjoy the following for free:

  • Health Screening (HBV, Clinical Breast Exams)
  • Hepatitis B Vaccination
  • Counseling
  • Distribution of The TIDEy personal hygiene (sample) kits.
  • Interactive health education and promotion sessions for social and behavioural change
  • Practical demonstration sessions
