Countering COVID-19 misinformation and fake news, including around vaccines in Nigeria

Duration: June – September 2020

The project is funded by Meedan, a technology not-for-profit that builds software and designs human-powered initiatives for newsrooms, NGOs and academic institutions. The project will fact-check misinformation around COVID-19 and promote public health messages. Nigeria Health Watch will use social media and traditional media, proven effective tools in broadcasting health information and engaging active users, readers and listeners to spread correct information, while also dispelling incorrect rumours around COVID-19.
